Door County is a natural wonder all year, especially in a setting as quiet and peaceful as Goettelman's Lake Home. The forest comes alive in the spring with a variety of early spring flowers. The giant ferns are the stars of the woods floor all summer, with many rare wild flowers hidden under them. Fall is just a blaze of color all through October, and winter really can be a wonderland with the trees frosted and the beach ready for a cross country ski outing.

It might be 4 hours from Chicago, but the last 600 feet is 30 seconds to paradise. We are just 10 minutes from shopping in Sturgeon Bay, and 25 minutes from the hot spots in Fish Creek.

We are on a sandy beach, (Lilly Bay) that seems to go on forever. If you like long walks, pack a lunch.
Winter is for snow shoeing and cross country skiing. Take your time, enjoy the muffled sound of the frozen waves.
